Sonia Samtani MD
Dr. Samtani was born and raised in Potomac, MD to physician parents. Upon completion of her high school at the Holton-Arms school in Bethesda, she was awarded a seven year accelerated BS/MD at the George Washington University where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the gold humanism honor society. She then continued her training in Internal medicine at Georgetown University where she was awarded the critical care award for senior resident in the department of medicine who epitomizes the ideals of empathy and excellence in critical care medicine. She then completed her Cardiology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine where she was awarded fellow of the year all three years of her training and was elected as chief fellow in Cardiology. She then continued at UC Irvine for interventional cardiology under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Morton Kern, author of the Cardiac Catheterization Handbook. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Samtani has a strong focus on patient education and medical education. She authored multiple chapters in three different textbooks of cardiology with regards to stress testing and interventional cardiology. She has a particular interest in Women’s heart and complex coronary interventions with radial access.
