Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, it’s diseases, and it’s specific secretions called hormones, the integration of developmental events such as proliferation, growth, and differentiation and the coordination of metabolism, respiration, excretion, movement, reproduction, and sensory perception depend on chemical cues, substances synthesized and secreted by specialized cells.Endocrinology is concerned with the study of the biosynthesis, storage, chemistry, and physiological function of hormones and with the cells of the endocrine glands and tissues that secrete them. The endocrine system consists of several glands, in different parts of the body, that secrete hormones directly into the blood rather than into a duct system. Hormones have many different functions and modes of action; one hormone may have several effects on different target organs, and, conversely, one target organ may be affected by more than one hormone.Locations:Annapolis Endocrinology Center108 Forbes Street, 2nd Floor | Annapolis, MD 21401Phone: (410) 571-7880Calvert Medical Arts Center130 Hospital Road, Suite 300 | Prince Frederick, MD 20678Phone: (410) 535-4333Lakeside Medical Center10403 Hospital Drive, Building B, Suite 102 | Clinton, MD 20735Phone: (301) 531-9190MedStar Shah at 10 St. Patrick's10 St. Patrick's Drive | Waldorf, MD 20603Phone: (301) 705-7870Oxon Hill Medical Center6710 Oxon Hill Road, Suite 250 | Oxon Hill, MD 20745Phone: (301) 292-7270St. Mary's Medical Center at Charlotte Hall37767 Market Drive, 2nd Floor | Charlotte Hall, MD 20622Phone: (301) 884-7322
